Found a great resource, by Alexander Dawson, describing the different layout types in webdesign and wanted to share. This article does a great job breaking out the various types of layout, be it elastic, fluid, ect. Many clients I initial talk with do not realize there are options beyond the design look and feel that can add to the over all look/feel of their website.

Pulled from the article, “One of the most variable aspects of web design is the way in which we approach width and height in terms of measurements and flexibility.

For many years, we have rotated between the benefits and pitfalls of using fixed, elastic, and liquid measurements in a quest to give optimal viewing experiences in highly varied situations, while balancing our need to control things in our web pages.” Read More…

This is a great article I wanted to share by Jamie Smith, posted on BBC.

“Selecting a font is like getting dressed, Ms Strawson says. Just as one chooses an outfit according to the occasion, one decides on a font according to the kind of message you are seeking to convey.” Read more…

Just wrapped up a production project for Black Dog Design, whom was representing Brunton Outdoor Group. This project included a team of about 5 designers, and had an incredibly tight deadline. KGCre8tive was responsible for compiling all the content, images, and prices into one completed piece, the work book. This was a 58 page brochure, with 1/2 tabs for navigation throughout. Spiral bound, with four colors and full bleeds. Agency did an excellent job on design concept and photography, and the finished piece was released for print last week. We were happy to assist with the project.

Just finished up the press check for the 2011 Colorado Weed Manufacturers Association Calendar. Purpose of this calendar was to identify new invasive weeds in the Colorado area. Software used was a combination of Photoshop, Illustrator and Indesign. Calendar is designed as 4 color throughout, with full bleeds.

“WOW! Just got my 2011 Calendar. It is beautiful!  Well designed, good info, fantastic pictures.  Excellent job Ornamental Committee!!!”
